Our Story

From humble family beginnings to a forecourt national leader

The PSA Group was established in 1985 by Peter Rowe and his wife, Gill, as Highbury Engineering in Adelaide, South Australia.

With a commitment to quality service and innovation, the business built up a trusted reputation over the years and evolved into Petrol Services Australia, now known as The PSA Group - the national leader in forecourt solutions.

Today, The PSA Group is still Australian owned and operated under the leadership of the Rowe family, with Peter’s sons, Jack and Sam, providing the strategic direction. Guided by a dedication to reliability and excellence, The PSA Group proudly serves clients with the same family values and commitment that launched the company decades ago. Now, this once small, Adelaide based business has grown into a nationwide provider with a service network that stretches across most of the country.

Company milestones

1985

Founded as Highbury Engineering and servicing the fuel industry with Signage management and engineering works on the likes of Adelaide Oval and the MCG.

1996

Expanded into fuel system maintenance and saw new markets open through engineering fuel system installation works.

2003

Following a restructure, Highbury Engineering branches off from Petrol Services Australia.

2009

PSA expanded into Victoria and Queensland, establishing itself as a national player and extending its service area to Tasmania, Northern Queensland, and the Northern Territory.

2015

Providing complete fuelling solutions by aligning ourselves with industry leaders and forming national partnerships.

2018

Continued Expansion plans into New South Wales, opening a branch to grow our national offering.

2020

Rebranded from Petrol Services Australia to The PSA Group to showcase our extensive Environmental and Civil capabilities and diversify our product offering.

Chief Executive Officer

With over 12 years of industry experience and a strong 'Customer First' approach, Jack drives continual improvement by managing the development of operational solutions. His in-depth knowledge of the industry, combined with IT and Project Management expertise, allows him to collaborate closely with the I.T. teams to ensure new solutions meet strict quality standards.

Jack is committed to maintaining and enhancing high levels of customer service with each new development, ensuring the business consistently meets client expectations.

Chief Operating Officer

Sam’s technical expertise stems from hands-on experience as an electrician at The PSA Group, where he gained deep industry knowledge. Working closely with Peter Rowe, he mastered the complexities of fuel system installation and played a pivotal role in expanding the installation services of The PSA Group from South Australia into the eastern states.

His strong understanding of client needs ensures PSA delivers solutions right the first time. Sam’s career spans over 15 years, solidifying his reputation for excellence in the industry.

General Manager

Paula brings over 20 years of industry experience to The PSA Group, leveraging her deep technical knowledge of fuel systems to deliver a systematic and efficient approach to operational management and maintenance solutions. Her commitment to excellence and customer-focused mindset ensures that client needs are not only met but exceeded, consistently maintaining high standards in service delivery.

With a firm belief that a strong team is the backbone of success, Paula actively supports her team’s development and instils her 'safety first' approach. She consistently ensures that safety remains paramount in every aspect of operations.

National Account Manager

Robert brings over 15 years of experience in Account Management within the oil and gas sector to The PSA Group. Specialising in client relationships and operational efficiency, Robert is the National Operations Manager for the Fuels Division. He draws on two decades of expertise in managing operations and strategic planning.

Robert has overseen significant projects in telecommunications and infrastructure, including the integration of two companies in the retail fuels sector. His background in Business Administration enhances his ability to drive operational excellence, while his hands-on experience spans key projects for Telstra and Foxtel. Committed to both team development and community service, Robert's leadership ensures high standards in service delivery.

His diverse background enables him to strengthen client relationships and deliver tailored solutions that meet specific needs.
